    I love this game

My 30 year old Tsar of Russia was gluttonous and at a feast I got the event to have an eating contest with some courtier/vassal. I took the option to go all out with a small risk of being wounded. Well, I was wounded and died shortly afterwards due to the wounded + obese modifiers. So my 30 year old mastermind philosopher tsar kills himself at an eating competition and his 8 year old son has to take over. Now I'm in danger with my vassals and factions but loving it - no other game creates stories like this.

    Wife keeps birthing boys......

Wife is 38 and no kids. I'm starting to get worried. So I swap to fertility focus and start doubling down on her. At 39, she gives me a son! Yes!

Then she proceeds to give me four more sons in her 40s....fml

The Karling starts are more fun than most "single county" starts

    Change my mind.

Sure, it's easy to get a massive kingdom from the get go, but the factions are a bitch to deal with.

Louis the younger being French in Italy and his counties being cisalpine don't make him popular. Several cousins within his realm who are title claimants, his brothers who can also attack him...

    It's fun. :)

You can probably easily get East Francia, but once you have it... Oh boy. That sweet -15 for being a foreign culture group you will learn to love.

Also the pope hates you, so better make sure you have those 500 gold to take his kingdom title away (which ironically makes him hate you less because the penalty for usurping is less than the triple -25 for holding shit he wants).

    Stuck home with COVID...

So I decided to pay $1 to get this game through PC Game Pass. Been watching this game since it launched, always was curious since CK2. I just was not very good at games like this. I liked games where you click buttons, swords fly, and you get results. This game seemed way too "hard" at the time.

Travel forward now 5 days into my quarantine... my wife now is happy I found this so she can leave me sequestered upstairs. I have been playing this game non-stop. I am hooked. I love this game. Not only is it beyond anything I have imagined, but it is kicking my ass... and I LOVE IT! This game is hard as hell, and it is enjoyable. The challenge is truly crazy.

My first playthrough on tutorial I did until I got Kingdom of Ireland united, then my king died and it went tits up. Tried playing the same thing 3 times in a row, they all went tits up. I am now on my 4th play though and am in my 5th generation, and cannot WAIT for more.

One of my favorite stories so far though is how my 3rd generation High Chieftain was murdered. My then Chieftess (his daughter) was immediately thrust into power. She had been my spy master for about 15 years, so her Intrigue was 19. I added her focus to that tree and started plotting my own murders. 3 years in I get revenge on my father's murderer. Not only that, but I gain one of the best prizes her soul could gain for doing that. After not only tracking down the murderer, but crushing their duchy, I gained the title "The Flayer" as I executed his heir in prison. The next ~35 bloody and violent years gave me the title of Kingdom and additionally setup 2 more generations of rulers for my tree. I am now hellbent on gaining the ability to allow female rulers and title holders for my kingdom and brining the glory of "The Flayer" forever! (I REALLY hope with Royal Court that you gain the ability to make a 'painting' of some of your lineage... I am totally putting a huge-ass painting of this woman in my throne room!)

Long live High Queen Lucia \"the Flayer\" of Ireland!

TL-DR: This game is stupidly amazing!

Royal Court Feature Suggestion: Paintings and Tapestries

    Posted: 04 Jan 2022 05:56 AM PST

With new Royal Court coming out soon, and us having the options to display our court in all it's glory... it got me thinking...

They need to make sure to add paintings and tapestry options that we can display for in our throne room. The kicker though, is that they should be named or based off of events that are real to our empire.

I personally would LOVE to have the chance to display a huge painting of some of my favorites rulers from previous generations. Additonally I would love to be able to get a chance at an epic battle to memorialize it in a tapestry to hang in my throne room.

These features wouldn't take much to add, just art assets for the tapestry, like one of 20 options. The portrait paintings wouldn't be that bad either. They already generate the 2D art for that in the family tree section. Just add a vignette to it, a paint texture lair, and then give us the ability to select one of a dozen backgrounds/frame styles.

Figured this would be a cool feature. I personally would flat out pay $15-20 for an expansion that offered basically just that feature. Haha.
