(just in case anyone was wondering about courtiers dying when you lose to a siege), it happens to the AI as well when you are the siege aggressor, you just don't get any alerts about those deaths.

I always wondered why when my capital was successfully sieged, i tended to lose courtiers, yet when i sieged others i just took control of the place, perhaps captured a few people, and that was that.

So i did a test where i sieged a count's capital, and pinned every one of his 10 courtiers as a person of interest, sure enough when i won the siege i got two alerts about 'persons of interest' that had died, so i can confirm it is indeed fair! Now that i have imparted this completely useless fact, i shall disappear back into the mists from whence i came.

Taking Jarl Haesteinns land does nothing / makes him stronger?

    Posted: 04 Nov 2021 08:38 AM PDT

So I started as a French duke and saw the opportunity to conquer Jarl Haesteinns county before he managed to win any new land, hoping to neutralize him as a threath.

Forward several years and Haesteinn is suddenly in a war with Brittany. He has no land of his own, just his jarldom title and his 3k special troops.

After he takes over Brittany, I call in my allies and attack him, we take over Brittany and decimate his troops, making him landless once more.

Forward just two years and Haesteinn is back again, attacking the French king. Now his has 8.8k special troops.

Where did those 8.8k troops suddenly come from, shouldn't he just have the starting 3k that were basically lost in the war over Brittany?
I understand that his special jarldom title might allow him to keep coming back despite not being a landed ruler, but where do the troops keep coming from?

So... can anyone explain this? Is it because she's vassal of the Pope or because her title is normally associated with a theocracy?
