Does the movement speed of armies seem a bit slow to anyone else?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2021 08:43 AM PDT

This has been bugging me ever since I noticed that it took my army almost a year to get from saxony to Aquitaine but I didn't bother testing it until now.

If I want my army to march from Dresden to Stettin (Both owned by me, and all the land in between as well) it takes a bit over 60 days. Using google maps (not accurate but I don't know of any other way) it seems that the distance between the two cities is around 310 kilometers So 310/60=5,17

Now, I know that roads in the medieval period weren't the best (and some might not even have existed, making the trip longer) but an average speed of 5 kilometres per day seems very slow, considering that the average walking speed is 3-4 kilometres per hour.

I also tested this in ck2 and eu4. In the former it took my army 45 days and in the later only 28. So 6,9 and 11 kilometres per day respectively.

This is a pretty crude estimate but it seems to me that armies in ck3 move unrealistically slow.

How would you feel about a decision that would allow you to rebuild the great library of Alexandria in CK3?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2021 12:31 PM PDT

If there is a specific reason Paradox hasn't implemented this before, please let me know. I just think it would be a lot of fun to create the largest library in the ancient world, it could give the holder of the county some unique events too.

    Do barons build/upgrade buildings?

    Posted: 05 Oct 2021 07:16 AM PDT

I can't seem to see on any wikis whether they do or not. I'm getting to the stage where I am pretty flush with cash but I still mightn't bother upgrading my barons' buildings if they will eventually do it themselves.
