After a lot of strategizing and restarts, I finally did an Ironman run to get the Kingdom of Mann & the Isles (+7 others) and Empire of the North Sea in one lifetime with a starting character, Sigurdr of Sjaelland.

In the last 30 minutes, I've had an extremely bitter feud develop with another ruler. Naturally, it was over my wife.

I'm playing as High Chieftain Otso of Finland in 1066. My wife has 18 diplomacy and is beautiful, both of us are 30 and we have 2 children. Soulmates too, +100 opinion, the whole deal. It's still very early game and there are 3 or 4 rival cheifdoms in Finland.

Now, one of my vassals rebels against me, and as I am putting down that rebellion (on the south coast of Finland), the chieftain to my north, Voitto, raids me. I'm unable to stop it, but whatever, it's like 13 gold. HOWEVER- he takes my wife prisoner.

Now, before I can ransom her, I get a notification that Voitto has forced my wife to serve as a concubine. My wife was pregnant and she has a daughter that is mine, but Voitto doesn't know that and takes my daughter as his own. I'm now legitimately, IRL angry.

I'm tribal so I can declare war whenever I want, but he's much stronger than me and has two allies as well.

Over three years, I build my army until I have 2500 men. He has 2000, one ally has 400, the other has 1500. I finally declare war. I beat each of the enemy armies individually, and siege his capital.

I capture Voitto, his wife, and his (my) daughter. This is where the bad blood gets really, really crazy. I recruit my daughter back into my court, then expose the secret that she's my daughter.

Next, I force Voitto's wife to serve as my concubine. No guilt, he did it first. I let Voitto stew in the dungeons for a year, then I torture him, then I execute him.

Now that his son is chief, my wife is considered a guest at his court. I invite her to mine, she accepts, and we remarry after about six years apart, still soulmates.

My thirst for vengeance is not yet sated. My diplomat, in a heroic twist of fate, invalidates my treaty with Voitto's son (who's like eight), I invade his last county, take it for myself, and end Voitto's dynasty once and for all.

    That. Was. Fun.

Advisors should keep performing the same tasks on nearby provinces that need it after they finish.

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 09:57 AM PDT

It's so frustrating to realize, "oh, I haven't looked at my advisor tab in 3 years" to see my priest is gathering faith (which I probably have 3000 of), my steward is gathering money, and my martial is increasing my levies (which I definitely don't need)

Given how long converting faith, converting culture and increasing control can take, you basically have to always be checking the advisor tab and memorizing dates that they're gonna finish their tasks, or lose efficiency

It would be nice if you could create a queue of jobs for your advisor to finish, but more realistically, they should just continue spreading faith/culture/control on nearby provinces

    Missing genetic traits

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 11:41 AM PDT

Why are there too little genetic traits when it comes to eyesight(besides being completely blind) like nearsighted or farsighted, or left-handed. There are MANY traits that are good and bad but interesting nonetheless.

My dad abdicated to join the Teutonic Knights and took all our relics with him

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 11:26 AM PDT

As it says- while fighting a Crusade my character had a holy vision and got the option to join a holy order. I agreed, since he was infirm anyways. Then as his son, I built a tomb for relics in my great cathedral...and saw I had no relics! We had built up a pretty impressive collection from 200 years of crusading and pillaging (I'm the de Hautvilles in Sicily). Is there any way to get them back? I assume I can't play as a member of a holy order and just give them. I don't think this is cheating, since the King wouldn't have all the relics with him as he travelled around and they'd thus stay with the family.
