Playing as king of England but started in Kent in 866.

I hadn't really payed too much attention to my dukes for about 100 years or so across a couple rulers. I had finally finished a brutal ground war against the emperor of france to press my claim on Flanders so that I could add it to my demense so i could print money.

I like to keep all of my dukes inside of the duchies and I like them to keep all of the counties in their duchies for themselves. (sometimes for larger duchies you can't stop them from granting a county or two away).

This leads to a larger number of powerful vassals, but I like to handle them by spying on them and antagonizing them until they slip and i catch them in a plot, then I arrest them. If they end up in a cell then great, leave them there on house arrest for their whole lives. They will hate you but they cant do anything other than live for a long time in your court because they are on house arrest and not in the obuilette or something. I try not to revoke titles to avoid tyranny, and arresting them when they slip ensures that no more than 1 duchy ever rebels at once. (plus they are like piggybanks because you can ransom them on demand for 145 gold a pop. I can wage a 6 month war against a fuckboi duke with a small selection of raised levies from other vassals, then immediately ransom him for 145 gold, and make a profit, and if you do that, you get a truce that lasts for 5 years, so if you fight your own duchies on rotation like one duchy every 2 or 3 years, you always have a rotation of cash and weak vassals). They cant rebel, so you get to have a powerful dukes who are wise with their money because they own several counties, and they aren't a threat for the rest of their lives.

Anyway, back to the story. I come back to England from France and decide to start conquering the other kingdoms. Problem is Wales is united and owns all of ireland, and scotland is united as well. I decide to go for Wales first because i\I got a lucky couple of fabrications on a duchy and a county, and then I just started pressing claimants for everything in Wales. By then end, I had wales but it was a mess with weird powerful vassals who owned like 1 county in every duchy. I don't like that, and its inefficient, but im impatient. I decided to go the hard but fast route and just do a hard reset, and just started provoking every duke and let plots run wild so I could have dirt on almost all of my dukes at once, then imprisoned them one by one.

I was able to keep them separated, and by the end every duke was in jail. took about 10 years. I had a lot of prestige from a crusade earlier in my life, so I decided to just revoke everything. They were all in jail so they couldn't say no, but when I had all the titles I was considered some kind of uber tyrant. Revoking over 40 counties and getting a tyranny modifier for every one sure added up fast.

But it didn't matter how much they hated me. There was nothing they could do. I seized every ancestral land these people had ever known. At the end it was just me and a million minor vassals. Obviously I couldn't just keep everything the game hates it when you do that, so I gave it all away. every duchy had its borders perfect. The kingdom was so organized it was beautiful.

I gave everything away to unlanded people of my culture and religion who didnt have any other claims. At the end of it all I was not a tyrant because new vassal dont carry over the modifier for tyrannical acts on the old vassals, and all of my new vassals loved me. Puppet governments all the way down to the county level. Wales let me change the inheritance laws right away because no vassals hated me. It was glorious.

End Story. I dont know anyone personally who plays this game so i dont get to talk about it. Just wanted to share with someone. I cant stop playing this game.
