The most annoying/broken thing in CK3

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 11:01 AM PDT

I REALLY wish the devs would fix this -

I was in a war for a kingdom I had a claim on. I had ~90% goal and most of the land. Peasant rebellion against the same king going on, King surrenders - POOF all the land I occupied goes to the peasant and the year+ I spent on sieges wasted....

I imagine it went something like -

"Ha! I have occupied almost all the kingdom as is my due."

"My lord a peasant revolt threatens the false king. He has surrendered to them."

"Oh shucks, I'll suppose I'll turn all those castles over to the jumped up peon then...."

The CK3 Multiplayer Grand Campaign. Join us!

Currently on One Pround Bavarian's Discord server we are having a CK3 Granc Campaign, we are in 1253 now. I play the Shahanshah Zand of Eranshahr (although not an Empire yet in game, I have proclaimed myself as one since the 1080's). We play with Real Size limit that grow overtime, with special rules for the HRE. I will leave a few screenshots at the end.

We are taking new players, everyone is welcome, just read the rules and be aware it is mostly a RP game.

    Here is my story:
My initial ruler was Shapur Teispid who proclaimed to be descended from the yougest of Cyrus son, one of the 9 pretender defeated by Darius. Ever since that defeat, the Teispids have lived exiled in the Zagros mountains as poor farmers, but they never forgot. They saw the Islamic invasions but could do nothing, then it was the Turks and it is under the Turks that my story really begin.

Shapur left the farm to go on an adventure at a young age, in his grand voyage, he learned to fight and to lead and those skill eventually led him to be a general for a small uprising of a Zoroastrian minority near Isfahan in 1065. The Seljuks beeing preocupied caved in and appointed Shapur to rule over a small domain as count in 1066.

In the Following years, Shapur used the Eastern Roman-Seljuk war to grow his power base and rescue ever more of his fellow Zoroastrians. Eventually, around 1080, the war in the West ended and the Turkish ruler decided they would now have to deal with the ever growing Zoroastrian Satrap that was Shapur, this led to the second rebellion.

The second rebelion was not won because the Seljuks were occupied and gave up, no, it was won through military prowess, especially forcing the Turks to give chase until some men were isolated and crushed. After 2 or 3 years of constant Zoroastrian victories, the Seljuks were forced to recognise the Teispids as independent rulers in the middle of their own Empire.

It did not take long before more vassals of the Turks exploited the weakness that had been created. The Assyrians would no longer submit, nor would the Kurds. Still both remained vassals for a while but they were not loyal and many populist rebellions arose. In 1087, the Teispids were once again the first to really exploit the weakness of the Empire, they struck again and Shapur now took Ray, Capital of the Seljuks. The Turkish state was now falling appart fast, half of it went independent. The life of Shapur continued in the same pattern of small conquest against the crumbling Turks.

It was around 1100 that the next major event took place. An Egyptian had taken Baghdad, cutting off the Assyrians on all side. A deal was made between Shapur and the Assyrian duke Hnanisho, he would convert out of Islam and Shapur would conquer Baghdad in his name. Shapur was one of the strongest ruler in the area by then, he could muster 10 000 men and he crushed the Egyptians, laying the foundations for the Assyrian Persian friendship that last to this day.

Afteward, no major event happened for 100 years, in the Middle East, except for the Crusades, which I did not get to fight.

My current ruler is the Shahanshah Zand, who in his twisted view of the world decided that strenght rule and that the Christians should be purged as they praise martyrs, which is a sign of weakness. Zand also want to purge Islam from Asia.

In the late 1220's and early 1230's, Assyria and Eranshahr fought Jerusalem for Syria, Jerusalem was allied to Sardinia and Egypt. It ended in a Defeat for the Assyrians, although, Zand had promised he would only balanced out the numbers and only sent 1/3rd of his armies to make the fight even, Eran was not impaired in the slightest by the defeat.

Here is the world as we ended last session, minus a few small save edits (HRE not beein in Portugal for exemple):
