Best Count Starts in the Byzantine Empire?

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 09:43 AM PDT

What are some of the most interesting (challenging?) starts as a count inside the Byzantine empire? I like starting as a count and working my way up but there are so many to choose from.

CK3 New Player Tips Compendium (Requesting Recommendations)

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 08:51 AM PDT

Consider this your formal request for recommendations for a new 'New Player Tips Compendium' guides for CK3.

If you're not aware, the Tutorial Tuesday threads all have a hyperlink to this topic from 8 years ago: "Tips for New Players: A Compendium." It's a great compilation of 89 posts by different people on different parts of the game, from general mechanics to region-specific guides or deep dives in specific tactics. Unfortunately it's also for CK2.

I'd like to at least start something like that for CK3 to serve as a starting location for various topics and to consolidate strategies or summaries of parts of the game that don't get a lot of publicity.

If you'd like to contribute, please recommended topics in the following format: [tag1][tag2] Title (Game version)

[Tags] should be your key words for general topic. Please give at least one, but no more than two, as the most important key words for people to look for/CTRL-F.

Title is the title of the thread/topic, what it's about. Shorten as possible, please.

(Game Version) is what release version this guide was written/is valid for. Will give future readers an indication if the material may be obsolete.

Hyperlink your contribution to the reddit post.

(And while it won't be included in the list, please also give a reason in your comment why you think it's worthy, especially if it duplicates/should replace something already present.)

Please limit recommendations to reddit posts on official game content. No outside link/youtube videos, mod guides, or comment-reply chains buried within other posts.

Currently organizing topics by general categories of-

Mechanics: Game rules or concepts that generally apply regardless of where in the map you are.

General Strategies: Broadly applicable guides on what to do. Can include general culture/religion/region as broadly applicable to any given character of that category.

Specific Strategies: Tailored to specific starts, characters, achievements, or other non-generalizable contexts.

Hello! Been lurking the sub for a bit and just started my first game! I of course have gone through the tutorial and am Petty King Murchad mac Donnchad....My question for you all, should I keep playing this? Or does anyone of any recommendations for a solid first play through? The amount of choices and decisions is a bit overwhelming. Any and all advice welcome :D Thank you!

Edit: CK3 is the game :)

Just some proposals I have for CK3

    Posted: 26 Jul 2021 10:51 AM PDT

Ok so these are just ideas I am throwing at the wall, I am not a game dev, yatta yatta yatta.

Idea 1: I think we should be getting more dates, right now even with full DLC, the only 2 dates we have are 1066 and 867, so I think maybe some other dates or the ability to start at our desired time would be nice. (I just want to play as Barbarossa, P L E A Z!)

Idea 2: Allow us to make our own coat of arms without having to go through the whole dice rolling process

Idea 3: I think it would be a cool idea to adopt someone into your house or something like that. Either that or be able to usurp head of the household if you have the head as a vassal.
