I am a (relatively) new player, playing as the King of Ireland right now. I married my primary heir to a claimant on the Duchy of Champagne and pressed her claim, taking it over. She then became the ruler of the Prince-Archbishopric of Champagne. I took it from the Duke of Bar so it wasn't theocratic before, and my son was removed from my line of succession, I'm assuming for being married to a theocrat. A few years later, she lost the Duchy, and not long after that, my son was randomly added back to my line of succession, but in the interim I had changed my succession law from "male preference" to "male only" to ensure that a capable male member of my dynasty inherited and prevent my daughter's inheritance from shattering the realm. Can someone help me understand what happened here?
