Raiding? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within the Asatrú region?

Things I'd like to see from this new game

    Posted: 20 Apr 2021 10:28 PM PDT

    1. A greater degree of economic complexity. I'd like goods, trade, and taxes on that trade. For many medieval kingdoms, this was a major part of their economy, though not as much as

    2. Agriculture. I want weather to affect agriculture. I want the player to be wary of raising armies in August and September because of the worry that letting the fields lie fallow will result in a famine.

    3. I want the peasants to play a greater role in the game. I never think about them until I get peasant revolts, which I'm always able to deal with no problem. I'd like my peasants to be represented in some way aside from being put down every so often. Town councils or something. More interactions than just uprisings would be nice.

    4. PLEASE some interactive complexity in the church. There was a decent system in ck2 in the curia mechanics. It should have been expanded on, not scrapped

    5. Divided feudal loyalties. Vassals not sure which king to pay homage to. A push and pull relationship between the church and the king. Arguments over who has what rights. The specific vassal contracts I think are a good basis to build on.

    6. Bring back boats. The embarkation system is probably one of my least favorite changes. Scrapping boats entirely is worse than no naval combat, and it's pretty silly to have boats materialize. I know it's an abstraction for gameplay purposes, but it feels cheap.

    7. Along with parallel loyalties, how about common religious heads? "Insular" christianity should still swear allegiance to the pope. It's not as though they disregarded him.

    8. Maybe some more detailed weather than just snow. Maybe, ooh, it was raining here, do I really want give battle in the mud? That will make using my mounted troops a lot more difficult and the soldiers will tire more quickly. Oh, it's desert? Maybe my heavily armored infantry will slow down after a while due to heat exhaustion. Would my Mediterranean soldiers just effortlessly adjust to being unceremoniously shipped off to Scandinavia, or vice versa? Maybe it's a bad idea to march into rome in the summer due to fear of malaria

    9. Bring back epidemics. It was an added dynamic to the game that I had to fear plagues.

    10. More detailed representation of monasticism and its importance. And I hope something a little more detailed than a throwaway line about sponsoring the Cluniacs. Maybe a new agricultural system could show their dominance on brewing and viticulture? Perhaps a nice donation to the monasteries could yield a favorable Chronicle for your dynasty, a passive fame bonus. Just some ideas.

    11. Playable republics, obviously

    12. A better byzantine empire. I think this is beating the same dead horse many have already hit, but if we keep on maybe they'll do something.

    13. MORE MUSIC! I LOVE You Andreas Waldetoft

    14. Playable. Baronies.

These are just some ideas. I love this game but I can see it becoming so much more

Tradeports should allow islands to get the development growth from neighbour counties bonus

    And that's a fact.

CK3: How would you build the Church of England?

CK3: How would you build the Church of England?

    Henry VIII Tudor

Longtime CK2 player but I haven't started up CK3 yet. I was browsing the CK3 wiki to get information for something on TV Tropes and the "religion builder" system caught my eye. I started to wonder something: how would one go about building a religion like the Anglican church a few centuries early, starting as a Catholic in the British Isles?

Most of it I think would probably be inherited from Catholicism, but you'd probably have to switch head of faith to Temporal, clerical marriage to Allowed, and appointment to Temporal-Revocable (divorce is already Must be Approved). Definitely Communion as a doctrine, possibly Adaptive. Other thoughts?

What's your usual end goal/playstyle when playing Crusader Kings?

    Posted: 21 Apr 2021 05:40 AM PDT

So i usually conquer everything inside my de jure empire title. After that, i wanted to just chill, play tall and expand my dynasty. But i forgot what my goal is and then just straight up conquer everything around me. And i think that thats not the way you play this game. So i was wondering what your end goal is or what you usually aim for when playing a campaign in Crusader Kings? (Btw i'm playing Crusader Kings 3)
