Seeing the news of Prince Harry getting a job at a tech start up reminds of me of when your non-inheriting children go off and start working for a different court.

    Suggesting: Integrating Events

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 08:14 AM PDT

The event I'm going to use to describe this is a Plush and Exotic Carpet. No one gives you a carpet if they're not trying to kill you. So when anyone tries to send me a carpet it is, immediately, sold, my spymaster is set to disrupt, and I begin looking at how to kill/imprison/destroy the sender. The same with a poisoned gift of gold; the sender is trying to kill you.

I think it would be better/more challenging if there were events where, say, you try and befriend someone by giving them a nice carpet (castles are drafty with hard floors, a carpet it a wonderful gift!). Now it is a question whether your powerful vassal is trying to kill you or befriend you when the carpet event fires. There are random events where vassals give you money. That should be when you're poisoned via money. Now it is a question of whether all three were trying to kill you, or just one?

Having events which explicitly warn you of danger which is supposed to be secret just seems like something that could be done better.

There should be a restore the kingdom of saxony decision

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 05:55 AM PDT

The kingdom title already exists in the game. It's just uncreateable. With the northern lords dlc and the fact that you need to take Paderborn to reform the germanic faith now if you don't have Jorvik it makes sense to be a decision.

Or just being able to create a kingdom when you are already a king would be nice.

How can I make my celibate ruler realise his wife has been cheating on him for 6+ years, hence the four children?

    Posted: 22 Mar 2021 06:46 PM PDT

Ok so, I'm playing a ruler who took a vow of celibacy after having a son to prevent gavelkind fuckery. But my wife (ruler in another realm) got pregnant. Again. And again. And again. So I know at least four of my six children are bastards. One of these kids is a son, which fucks up my inheritance. I need them gone.

Every time my ruler gets the event where he's suspicious about her pregnancy (nice one Sherlock) nothing ever comes up, no matter if I hire more spies, no matter if I confront her directly, she's never been caught or confessed. Her intrigue skill is higher than mine. How can I make my brain dead ruler figure out he's been cheated on? I can't spy on my wife, nor my kids as none of them are adults yet, though I'll probably still be alive when they reach adulthood and can do it then. Ideally I'd like to catch my wife cheating which should reveal which kids aren't mine right? Is there any way I can do this?

Reference to other alt historical easter egg besides Mann in today's diary?

    Posted: 23 Mar 2021 10:49 AM PDT

    anyone know what it is?

"Remember when I said at the start of the diary that we generally wanted to stay historically plausible? Well, that's very true, and everywhere else we've tried to stick quite hard to, at the least, a valid interpretation of historical evidence.

Elevating Mann is the one major exception we allowed (and a _big_ shout out to everyone who's already found the other, more-hidden major exception and are readying their corrective posts right now, but _shhhhhh_, let people find it by themselves). It's dumb, it's fun, it's for bringing out your inner pirate-monarch and stealing the wealth of the world away."
