We always see people's resurrected Roman empires and their world conquests, but no one seems to share their fails. I just got stomped by a crusade, and it was damn fun to lose.

Post-patch, crusades are nearly impossible to win or defend against

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 02:55 AM PDT

I don't know what is going on with this game since the update but a huge group battle like a Crusade is currently a near impossibility.

Every single one of my allies repeatedly gets stuck in some stupid loop where they start to move one way, then the other, then the first, then the other...

So when everyone converges for a big monster battle, funnily enough all the opposition troops form quickly and efficiently into a doomstack, and I get to watch my 25,000 guys get obliterated by 40,000 enemies, while another 30,000 allied forces dance cucarachas in all the surrounding spaces. I thought the patch was supposed to make this better - it's made it worse.

They also do it when I'm besieging, so they don't actually contribute to the siege (because they're always technically moving) and they don't go off and do something useful elsewhere (because they never actually get more than three steps down a road without changing their mind and going the other way).

This has happened in my last three crusades (all defensive) and it's sucking quite a lot of fun out of the game - no point trying to conquer lands, I'll just lose it in a Crusade while all my allies re-enact fucking Strictly.

Outremer Culture inherits your previous innovations

As above. Forming the outremer empire will cause the Outremer culture to inherit all your innovations now instead of starting with 0. This was done while the cultural head of Mashriqi, I don't know if being the cultural head at the time of foundation matters.
