CK2 features that won't be in CK3 on release

    Posted: 05 Aug 2020 10:52 PM PDT

I think this is a pretty good list but it's entirely possible I missed stuff so feel free to add:

    • ruler designer (promised in an early feature update)
    • Societies
    • Great works - deprecated by new features
    • Bloodlines - deprecated by new features
    • Playing as merchant republics
    • Duels
    • Conclave education system
    • A lot of start dates
    • Supernatural stuff
    • Playing as nomads
    • Disease/plagues - this is probably actually included
    • Jade Dragon content
    • Shattered / Random world
    • Sainthood / ancestor veneration
    • College of cardinals
    • Artifacts
    • Message prioritization (e.g. choosing if messages are notifications or toast popups)
    • Children of destiny
    • Aztec Invasion
    • Mongol invasion - Nevermind, I found a source saying this is included at launch

To be clear I don't mean this as a criticism just wanted to assemble the list in one place

How are you feeling about CK3?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 09:47 AM PDT

Hello! I've seen different levels of enthusiasm about the CK3 release next month, but am still feeling cautious after what happened with Imperator. How are you feeling about it? Have you pre-ordered, or will you get it right away? What are you most excited or worried about?

I hope they make title destruction much more common in CK3

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 08:29 AM PDT

Instances of titles just sort of losing recognition and becoming effectively titular is one of the things I feel crusader kings sorely lacks. Think of Charlemegne's HRE, which effectively died with his death, or the breakup of the reconquista kingdoms, or the slow decline in power of the HRE. I know these are supposed to be represented by gavelkind in game, but more often than not even when you have gavelkind (which even in the earliest start dates is very easy to remove or at least deal with for a generation or 2) they'll end up as you vassal which makes it really easy to retain control of them. And for the reconquista kings specifically, they really should be dukes.

Another thing I wish happened is factions firing on succession, especially child succession. If a large portion of the realm wants someone to be a king and the current king dies, that's the perfect time to just start following him. Or have liberty factions just become independent, and give you claims on them.

    One man army

Is the Number of Knights on the battlefield seem a little small compared to kills?

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 08:36 AM PDT

In the new livestream, only 7 Knights killed 105 people, on average 15 kills per person. First of all, that seems like a huge amount of kills, even on a mounted unit. And secondly, is that historical? To only have 7 knights out of an army of 2,000 seems slightly small to me. I may be completely ignorant here, just wondering if that was really historically proportional. I also saw a screenshot of 8 Knights in an army of 6,000+ on one of the dev diaries.

    Beautiful Trait

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 06:02 AM PDT

The beautiful trait seems to be implemented well - Anderquina (on the left), with the Beautiful trait, looks noticeably better to me than Infanta Urraca. Any thoughts?
