769 Han Chinese Guide (Starting as Zhou Ding)

    Posted: 14 Jul 2020 08:18 AM PDT

So after fiddling around with this start for a while, i think i finally understood how to make this start reliable, and i just thought i'd share it:

Starting out as a vassal of the Western Protectorate, you're in a very nice situation, because it basically makes you untouchable - giving you all the time in the world to build up.

    1.: China is your friend

You get a huge amout of Grace passively, giving you free imperial marriages, and invasions if you wait a bit. I was able to have them blow up Tibet less than a 100 years into the game, which is insane.

    2.: Tibet is free real-estate

You absolutely need Tibet to blow up (which happens quite often on it's own) to get somewhere to expand. If it stays stable for too long and you can't have the boss invade them (for example if they are a tributary), you basically can't do anything.

3.: Get a duchy anyway you can

Without a duchy title you can't gain tech points, which means you can't get rid of gavelkind. If you absolutely can't get a duchy after 100 years no matter what, save yourself the time and reroll.

    4.: Independence is easy

To become independent from China, you need to make sure that the Protector General only has a single county. Then move your capital next to that county, declare independance, ignore the doomstack, hire mercs and zerg down his capital (usually Dunhuang) - bam, 100%, cya later. Don't even try to fight the chinese army, you really can't. This works even with Golden Age china, is super reliable, and you still get some Grace afterwards for culture and religion. Whether you want to do this early or expand under China's protection first is up to you.

I love this playthrough so far, now on to conquer the rest of the barbarians and make the Fire Nation :p

Edit: One thing early that's really annoying is raiders, unfortunately i didn't really find a way to get rid of them - until you're strong, you probably just have to let them do their thing which hurts your income, but since the Protector General is pretty useless in dealing with them, there's not really much you can do unfortunately.

I really would like to see Asian version of CK made by Paradox

    Posted: 13 Jul 2020 06:24 PM PDT

Which contains dynasties in China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Cumania like until Black Sea or Khazar (Caspian) Sea which spans the age of the Turk (-ish / -ic) Khaganate which is a state that saw many adventurous events, interventions, revolts, relations with nomadic or sedentary dynasties in China, Rourans (Asian Avars), intrigues etc. etc. between 500s and 800s. I'm not talking about the mods made by the community but a proper completely separate game made by Paradox, not similar to the CK2 or CK3 which are games that depicted the European feudal world but ofcourse I'm still talking about a typical Paradox-style medieval strategy game. Anybody in for such a game?
