    I just spent close to four hours trying for the "Defender of the Holy Sepulchre" achievement, where you start as the Count of Boulogne and win a crusade for Jerusalem. This one isn't really hard, but it's a lot of just waiting for the crusades to trigger, which gets boring, and I had to restart a few times to get things set up right.

    Along the way, I unintentionally switched my vassalage from France to the HRE, due to inheritance shenanigans. The crusades finally fired in like 1100... only to tell me I can't join, cause the pope is my religious head. So I checked, and it turns out the Emperor has the STUPID FUCKING ANTIPOPE that insists on having EVERY GAME, even though he NEVER GAINS ANYTHING FROM IT, and GOD I REALLY DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO RESTART AGAIN I'VE BEEN HERE FOR 3.5 FUCKING HOURS FUCKING DAMN IT

    Please tell me there's something I can do about this...

    I remember first ever time I played this game I started at Leon. My brother ended up revolting against me and declared war. I didn't really know how to raise very many levies or anything so I ended up getting fucked up bad since he had at least 5000 men and I only had like 200, but then I remembered that because I married the princess of the HRE I had an alliance with the Kaiser and I asked him to help me. Dude ended up sending about 11000-17000 men (can't remember exactly) and I destroyed my brother's armies. Literally every single time I needed help the HRE would supply me with a metric shit ton of soldiers.

    I'm doing a cheat run rn and first thing I did was to claim the HRE solely because of how much help I got from them when I was first starting out
