The idea of reforming a religion into divine marriage is hilarious

Imagine being a well reknowner seer, venturing to the homeland of a great conquerer and one of the most pious men of your day after he rests control of your most sacred holy sites away from the infidels, and he tells you all that in order for your religion to survive against the onslaught of Abraham you need to let him fuck his sister.

On the ephemeral utility of FAVORS

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 10:36 AM PST

I've not had to fiddle with favors for too much other than buying council support from time to time.

Are they generally a little bit... on the useless side?

I've tried to leverage them more in my last game or two to see if there's anything about the mechanic I've been missing, especially since I've been playing some count-to-emperor games where I thought they might be more useful for working within a kingdom and building up a powerbase from a small start, but have found that I don't really find a good use for them.

One of the low-key best uses I thought I might get out of them is forcing court invites for claimants/future claimants, but alas, the invites I actually could possibly want to force tend to be the very invites the game decides are ineligible for any one.

If it's something I really most want to use a favor for, 9 times out of 10 the game greys out the button and says "OH, well you can't use a favor for THAT on THIS guy. You can only call in a favor if it's completely useless."

Probably because OP if abused...but it makes the whole mechanic a bit useless to me. Wondering if I was the only one who felt this way.

Will CK3 have better Cadet dynasties?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 07:41 AM PST

CK2 barely had representation for the formation of cadet dynasties by female rulers. The only possibly argument is the weird "Fitz____" bastard dynasties but these are not really what I'm referring to. The House of Habsburg went extinct in its male line in 1740 with the death of Maria Theresa's father and was fully dissolved in 1780. How, then, did they rule Austria until 1918? A cadet dynasty.

The House of Lorraine was founded in the 1400s and was eventually combined into the House of Habsburg forming the House of Habsburg-Lorraine. Dynasties like this existed often when male lines went extinct. I really hope CK3 has dynasties like this that you can continue to play as even after yours has gone extinct, because we consider Habsburg-Lorraine to be the "Habsburgs" but they aren't.

    What do y'all think?

Should I kill my demon spawn vassal ?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 05:11 AM PST

One of my vassals is a demon spawn I created with a random satanist courtier some time ago. He is not of my dynasty, is 87 years old, and is currently my spymaster and court doctor with his 33 intrigue and 23 learning stats. He also has all the capital sins, has the big gay, and worst of all : is left handed. All his 12 children died before their first year, except for one I managed to save by taking him as my pupil. He also is very loyal to me, and saved my characters lives many time. But I fear he could become a very big problem because of his demonic powers. So my questions are :

    -should I kill him ?

-if not, is he still a threat ? (More than a normal vassal I mean)

-is his only surviving child a potential threat too ?
