Crusader Kings In an attempt to end border gore once and for all, I embarked on a month's long crusade to conquer the world in North Korea mode and then divide the lands into precise, dejure territory. This is when I managed to conquer every single holding, and after six hours of divvying up duchies.

CKIII Feudalizing in 900s is empire suicide

    Posted: 20 May 2021 10:19 AM PDT

Doing a Rurik playthrough, managed to become tsar of Khazaria from the subjugate CB then converted to adamist from a pilgrimage event and mostly finished putting down revolts. In generation 4 I was about to start my human husbandry project to breed fertile geniuses when a nice feudalise purple pop up showed up and I clicked it.

The sheer amount of gold and troops I lost from feaudalizing was insane. Like 20k troops and positive 20 gold to 5k troops and negative 10 gold per month!!!! Disaster struck when a random Earl from Estonia who was allied with the danish king had an alliance of 11k troops proceeded to steamroll an take my duchy if novigrad lands.

Thankfully I didnt ironman this one due to some save file issues with GeForce now and can at least undo this decision.

Any other popups I should avoid clicking?

One of my best gameplays: Created Slavia, became Fuedal, reformed Norse mythology, and sacrified the pope to Odin. Jarl Rurik in 867 really is a goated start to play.

Forming the Holy Roman Empire in 867 as a Karling should give High Partition, not Princely Elective

    Posted: 20 May 2021 12:09 PM PDT

Currently, forming the HRE in 867 only models the formation of Otto's HRE. This is despite the fact that there are still Karlings with claims on the title.

High Partition was how the succession after Louis the Pious was supposed to work. Lothar was to get most of the empire, with the other brothers, getting Bavaria and Aquitaine. This got messed up when Louis tried to include Charles the Bald, his son from his second wife, in succession. If a son or grandson of Louis can reconquer most of the Empire, they should be able to get High Partition.
