I really hope Paradox adds the Iron Century as a new Starting Date in the future. Posted: 22 Apr 2021 10:18 PM PDT IMO the 867 starting date is only fun if you are playing Vikings (or not focusing on Europe whatsoever) Since Vikings are OP and Europe becomes a border gore mess. 1066 is far more stable, but in some cases it's so stable that it really takes an entire generation for things to start getting messy. CK2's Iron Century was the perfect balance IMO. It gave us a lot of 867 Flavor but also added a lot of the stability of the 1066 starting date. Specially since some Viking Rulers were starting to convert to Christianity. Making a lot of their power to be far more controlled as they have to deal with the religious clash on their own territories. Also we start getting more stable big Kingdoms as well (although the lack of mass raiding does help on stability) But still the Kingdoms are not huge blobs like in 1066. [link] [comments] | ||
