Why is it that you don't need to ask permission to move your troops through another ruler's realm?

    Posted: 16 Apr 2021 08:15 AM PDT

Idk if this is still a thing in CK3 but I've always found it weird that in CK2 you can just casually move 30k troops through a ruler's capital and everybody's just chill with it. Why is it that you don't need to ask permission first to move troops through somebody else's realm

Nothing special to see here, just wanted to share my Empire of Italia while it still fits into a single screenshot (and still be able to see internal realms). Particularly pleased with how I'm managing to keep my internal borders fairly clean.

The "King maker" Duchy - Why should i bother to be king/emperor?

The "King maker" Duchy - Why should i bother to be king/emperor?

I'm a duke at vassal/county limit. I wouldnt mind becoming king/emperor in theory, but that would mean less income, would it not? I would have to give away the good counties with duchy title that are not inside the permitted 2 duchies ? And all vassals of the not owned duchy would suddenly only pay me 1/10 of the money i get now. Or am i mistaken?
It seems like it would result in a serious power/income drop if my title would be upgraded to king or even emperor?

For reference, my liege, the Emperor of the "humongous" HRE (i switched to character to view this)

    my liege (Emperor of HRE)

    Meanwhile, my dude:
Earning 4x more gold than the Emperor, more levies. And its not even fully upgraded yet, some county buildings (granted not many) are still at level 2 or 3, not even menioning the holdings... And i still only have 5/18 innovations in High Medieval period.
I started with county Göttingen, so its not a surprise i have more development than the rest, but still...

    my duke (at county/vassal limit)

The HRE Elector counts all want to vote me as Emperor, and i have to side with the Emperors shitty heir all the time to not become Emperor myself :/ For the moment i'm sitting in my duchy, contemplating what i should do, and try to instigate wars for my dynasty members to put them in loftier positions /try to defend them.

Maybe it's not much, but, after years of playing CK2 (now CK3) I managed to restore Rome in less than 100 years and I'm super proud SPQR!
