I have wiped out the entire land... accidentally

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 05:31 AM PST

Recently I decided to get some of the more tedious achievements like getting to the end date or getting maxed out research and so on. Would also restore the Roman Empire while I'm at it I thought and pretty much did it. In a few generations Western Europe, Middle East and North Africa was united under my glorious rule.

Everything went well until i decided to fix internal border gore and started reorganising my vassals, destroying some titles, giving out others, retracting and giving vassals until I got the perfect picture of every vassal king and duke having their de jure borders.

As you might imagine, I have amassed a bit of tyranny malus over the course of my actions. To be precise, I was at -693 tyranny opinion (before factoring personal grievances for retracted vassals, high taxes and so on). Everyone hated me. Vassals, courtiers, me family. I think they only ones that loved my were my unborn children and wives. It's safe to say Hitler was more popular than my emperor.

Next came 30 years of constant revolts. Factions popped up, revolted, went to war, failed miserably and their leaders went to jail. By the end of that time most of my vassals were jailed along with those of their vassals who didn't have money to pay the ransoms.

Then the inevitable came and my emperor was assassinated (that was a fifth or sixth attempt, I even managed to get The Thing Love Does for Us out of this mess) but not until I managed to secure the succession via Tanistry elective and releasing enough voters from jail to swing votes on all titles for my chosen heir.

Young lad ascended the throne and I thought the worst part was behind me. How foolish of me. The 'i don't like your dad' malus didn't go anywhere as well as short reign penalty and all those extra dislikes for high taxes and stuff. Before I knew it I was fighting two separate succession wars for Byzantine empire and Francia, which i managed to win (with a lot of mercenaries and help from allied dynasty kings).

There were about 179 people in my dungeon, almost all of them nobles. And then the plague broke out in the castle. In a few months i saw most of the inmates getting sick, one of my wives caught the plague as well as on of the younger sons, so I had to act quick.

What do you do when your prison has a plague outbreak? That's right, you ransom, convert or parole everyone out. Go, go away you stinky rotting walking corpses! Go back to your courts and die there, you fools!

Now, I should have though this one out more carefully. Because there were 1714 living members of my dynasty, mostly vassals and landlords (remember the reorganisation?) and now their courts were plagued with plague. Those who returned from jail infected others. People started dying. Stress started rising. People started dying from plague and stress leading to more stress... And now all I have left is to sit back and watch it all burn to the ground. What 50 years of constant civil wars couldn't accomplish, I managed to in less than a year.

    So Monarch’s Journey gone?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 07:05 AM PST

Forgive me but I'be been living under a rock and in hiding when I don't know most of the news about paradox and ck2 and ck3 news partly due to my lover cousin sister aunt mother Dommitria wanting to cut my eyes and balls so she could get my Byzanti.... uh, I mean Roman Empire. Anyway, I heard that Monarch Journey has been removed? Can anyone conform this or is this just a bug for me? What can you do in Monarch Journey and is there a reward? I don't have the DLCs to play some of the challenges (I think there are Muslim and Indian rulers) so you can dm me some if you're a kind stranger, I'll appreciate it immensely although I have done that by you taking your time reading this and explaining to me. Also, is there any way to do the challenges (like restoring previous version and how to do it). Anyway, thank you for your time.

Taking Rome early in a game is a cheat, just look at what (the multiple) Cyrus Peter(s) were able to achieve by doing it. This is my first ironman-game, I started in the 9th century as Duke of Benevento, conquered Rome and then I founded the Kingdom of Benevento-Romagna, from the journey was smooth.

"Vasalls titles cannot be inherited by Characters outside the Realm" - bugged?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 10:07 AM PST

    Hey there,

I am an emperor and have recently released a bunch of smaller kingdoms with my dynasty, now one of those guys inherited a kingdom inside my realm it seems....and it became independent.

am I missunderstanding what the crown authority does or is it just plain not working?

Have you just not went to war?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2021 05:40 AM PST

I'm playing as Bohemia because I love kingdom come deliverance. And I expanded just a little bit but all my holdings are feudal and I want to increase my domestic living.

Have any of you just focused on your domestic holdings and upgrading them to get richer instead of going to war? I've been playing since release day any I love expanding territory like any other but I think this run I'm going to focus on a small, but strong powerful country.

I just now realized that only your de jure vassals need to be English. (Duke of Normandy can be Norman etc.) And if you're wondering why I'm a sinner... let's just say I went for some other achievements as well.
