I planned ahead, and got extremely lucky, so my Byzantine Empire just swallowed France and Italy 62 years into the game. Feels good when a plan comes together. Where should I conquer next?

CK3 Discord Live Q/A with the developers - Wednesday Aug. 12, 11:30am CEST

Will there be any new things to do as a part of the council in CK3?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 07:47 AM PDT

In CK2, apart from being able to vote on laws, the only benefit you got from being on the council was a boost to prestige and a small salary. There was also a boost to plot power.

There were some special events but those occur randomly. I think it would be nice to have some new decisions we can take or options to use based on our position on the Liege's council.

Iberia is still in the hands of Islam, but sure, Pope, let's go invade some tiny African realm

My game had a glitch where the total strength of the two parties were swapped, causing the pope to start an impossible Crusade. Is this a known issue? (Unmodded Ironman)

I can’t seem to play well as a Christian.

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 09:56 AM PDT

I love this game, and am not great but not terrible at it. Other than a run as the Byzantine Emperor in 769 where I restored Rome/Hellenism, I've always been a tribe (usually Lithuania cus sweet Eldership) and I've watched Catholicism time and again fail spectacularly, first by Charlemagne getting annihilated by Saxons, then losing wars to the Umayyads, and this past play through, in the most ridiculous way: Karl's son inherited West/Middle France, then lost it all to an African Adventurer, who then conquered Denmark and northern Iberia, and then died, and her son converted it all to Islam. I want to see Christianity do well, but don't want to start off as a super powerful King, and when I start out as a Duke its so slow. Chancellor takes FOREVER to fabricate claims, I've tried playing in France and England and its long swaths of sitting and doing nothing. Feel like I'm doing something wrong. Do you guys have any tips on how to get going off the ground?

    First CK3 run?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 09:39 AM PDT

There's a lot that's going to be added in CK3. So much so that I haven't decided what my first playthrough is going to be. Do I want to try to reenact one of my favourite CK2 playthroughs, as Ireland or Abyssinia or Sweden? Should I try a West Africa playthrough, now that there's enough there to make the region interesting? Should I try playing with one of the new cultures in Germany? A Spanish playthrough? North Africa? India? Persia? Russia? Tibet?

There are a lot of ideas I have for CK3 campaigns I want to try, and I'm curious to see what ideas other people have.
