CK2 negative reviews analisys (done by me)

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 07:05 AM PDT

As you all know, CK2 got review-bombed last days. But why? Is it only because of CK2 fans were disappointed by the "Deus Vult" controversy? Let's find out! I've analised every negative review (including non-english ones) since 18.10 (when the game became free-to-play). There are all the reasons of the negative reviews (some reviews had multiple reasons):

    • Total - 437
    • Deus Vult, more than 10 hours in the game - 196 (~45%)
    • Deus Vult, less than 10 hours in the game - 93 (~21%), less than 1 hour in the game - 35 (~8%)
    • Paradox DLC policy - 66 (~15%)
    • Game becoming free-to-play - 34 (~8%)
    • "I don't like the game" - 24 (~5%)
    • Just hate without reasons - 24 (~5%)
    • The game doesn't work or working very badly - 16 (~4%)
    • "We don't need CK3!" - 4 (~1%)
    • Game becoming 64-bits - 4 (~1%)
    • Paradox don't respect their employees - 3 (~1%)
    • No chinese language - 2 (<1%)
    • Other Paradox game is EGS exclusive - 1 (<1%)

So, yes, a lot of people are upset because of Deus Vult. But almost 1/3 of them didn't played the game even for 10 hours, so we cannot call them "CK2 fans". And more than 1/9 of them don't have even 1 hour in the game. I think, a lot of this people don't even know much about CK2 and downvoted it just because they've heard "This game will not have Deus Vult". And because the game is now free, it's pretty easy for the people completely unrelated to the community to review-bomb it.

    the little things

honestly one of the most underrated things about ck2 are the historical characters that aren't in game. check the history of the county of kent, the second leader is boudicca. not only that, but she's part of house iceni, the historic tribe in that area. furthermore, she has many historically accurate traits in terms of military leadership. and it's not just her, take a look at the history of the byzantine empire. it shows all the roman emperors with the right traits. commodus is paranoid, caligula is a lunatic, vespasian is just etc... this is probably not gonna get a lot of upvotes but i just wanted to point it out.

This means that CK2 is finally feature-complete.

At long last, I can play without experiencing crippling future-FOMO about all the bells and whistles the next expansion will add!

    My first CK2 completed game

    Posted: 22 Oct 2019 09:46 AM PDT

    My first CK2 completed game

My first complete game in ck2 from 769 to 981 AD. Ruled the Kingdom of Somerset and had the Duchy of Normandy in France and all the duchies in Southern and Central England. Fought two crusades, most wars were Holy Wars against the Germanic Invaders in Britannia and Heretics. Now it is ruled by a Khazar ruler after the death of the last Cerdicing King. The laws were Agnatic Seniority. I could have changed it but failed to do so due to the last rulers dying due to diseases. Anyways can I know which is the best succession laws for long term survival?
