No game turns you into a monster faster than CK.

I have nearly 300 hours played in Kenshi, and I've managed to roleplay "the good guy" through all of it.

Rimworld did test me, but I never made/traded drugs. And while organ trading is seductively lucrative, I always tried to build a peacefull colony, focused on making my colonists happy. I even tried to give the fallen enemies somewhat proper burials.

Enter CK. As soon as I faced a situation where in order to keep my kingdom whole I'd need to kill of each of my siblings - I didn't hesitate for a single nanosecond.

This game is the most evil of all.

    Ideas for reducing border gore

    Posted: 19 Jan 2022 03:54 AM PST

In my current game, it looks like Italy has sneezed across the map with random counties everywhere. My own kingdom has a bunch of islands of other realms that aren't worth pursuing on their own their own merits. A 10 year war against an empire for a single county? Meh. It just isn't worth it yet there they sit like ugly zits. It doesn't seem realistic.

    What can be done?

    1. Cassus Belli Border Consolidation

The most common reason I get for border gore is holy wars. I will war for the largest duchy and it will leave the random counties as islands in my territory that weren't part of the claim. IMHO the holy war claims should include counties that would become islands within your territory and exclude those that become islands in someone eles's. I think all Cassus Belli could have some natural border consolidation included.

    2. Give a big buff for "whole duchy owned"

Ensure that reducing border gore is really worth it

    3. Non-contiguous borders debuff

Territory that isn't connected to your main realm should be really suffering.

    i) massive buff to indepedence rebellions in territory not land connected to your captial - "local knowledge advantage" driven by detailed knowledge of local environment, broad support of local population allowing for assymetric warfare that can demolosh superior troops. They get an "afghanistan buff". Reduces over time as the controlling realm adapts.

ii) dejure drift towards surrounding territory - a non-contiguous county you own in the middle of another empire should eventually switch just out convenienvce for itself. Have an "attraction to other realm" stat that grows without attention but can be mitigated with force or investment.

iii) you can only raise levies in contiguous counties - any others must be raised locally and shipped

    4. Mitigating a non-contiguous borders debuff

    i) military occupation - a means to sacrifice some section of your levies/maa from other areas to permantly occupy territory you already own to reduce rebellion debuffs

ii) secondary capital - a special building for a regional governer that removes the debuffs of non-contiguous territory. It needs to be in a "natural capital" of the territory. If you are England and conquer France, you'll have a tough time holding it until you build a second capital in Paris to help control it. Such a governer is an uber-vassal causing unique problems above and beyond "strong vassal". This means it's still totally possible to create a multicontential empire, it just requires more work to hold it.

So, my Liege's wife tried to seduce my lord, and I embraced it, and now they're lovers, and she's had my lords child. My Liege is understandably furious and demands I surrender myself to imprisonment. I refuse, go to war, beat him in battle, capture him, torture him to relieve some stress, and force him to surrender and abdicate. His wife still has 100 opinion of me.

I'm just trying to imagine how that guy feels. His wife cheated on him and had a child, he gets beat by his vassal in combat, taken prisoner, tortured, then forced to admit defeat in the war and abdicate, and his wife couldn't love me more.

Also, I feel like my lord just fucked this guys whole existence so badly that no one would ever want to fuck with my lord again. Dude was straight up alpha. I'm trying to think of something that would top what he did.

    Nothing happens after adultery event?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2022 06:45 AM PST

    Hello everyone,

Here as a noob I am just starting to understand the main concepts but I just had an event that leavesd me perplexed:

I just caught my Chancellor and Vassal sleeping with my brother's wife and the only option given was to call the guards.

But I don't understand as everything continues as if nothing had happened and I didn't even get hooks against him.

Is there anything to learn from this event apart from the loss of opinion points?

I hate factions when I am in holy war.

    Posted: 19 Jan 2022 06:44 AM PST

I mean look. Does it makes sense for your vassals to intrigued there way up when a crusade is up? Liberty wars, independence wars should barely happen imho. I mean, it is like, you are in a war and fight shit and you have your wife being banged by your vassals while giving you the middle finger.

Make at least vassals less inclined to form factions when a crusade is up.
