Posted: 22 Jan 2022 08:09 AM PST I finally became the king of Bavaria and I realized that I probably wasn't going to form the HRE in my current lifetime. I still wanted to do it so I started stacking my heir to get him in position to make it happen. I just want to list out all of the ways that Karl the Loser managed to lose his way out of an empire -Gave him a duchy, lost three years later to a tyranny faction -Gave him a different duchy, lost to tyranny faction -County, peasant revolt At this point wtf -Made him chancellor, got weak hooked out of it to someone a few points better so not worth killing -Married him to a beautiful princess of Frisia, a few years later realize that they both have blonde hair and all of his children have black hair. Debug, yup, not his -Murder him to the throne of Frisia, lost four years later to tyranny faction -War for Frisia and put him on the throne, lost to pretender revolt At this point I don't even know what to do with this loser because he has better stats than his brothers -cheated on his beautiful wife with a craven/hunchbacked 54 year old lowborn courtier and was outed almost immediately -put him as Marshall, not totally his fault but I lost a war with him as Marshall so we'll let the buck stop with him -His beautiful wife starts spiralling and outs that basically none of her children are his -He challenges the guy (some duke, idk) to a duel. -this moron has 8 prowess, the guy he's challenging has 22. Loses the duel and dies from his injuries His brother who was just a quiet, shy dude with high stewardship becomes my heir. That guy was a baller. Fought 20 wars and formed the HRE. One of those 20 wars? Yup, you guessed it, Karl the Loser's illegitimate loser son taking a shot at the throne. Karl the loser managed to lose from beyond the grave. [link] [comments]

The short story of Gyla, the woman who only knew loss. Posted: 23 Jan 2022 04:20 AM PST Gyla, Taking the role of a chieftess from a young age, she was a skilled physician and poet. She had a lust for men and power, and albeit they both were fulfilled, they couldn't save her. Through the years her lust grew, and she accumulated many lovers in her realm. Most were her champions, who fought for her as she aided her liege times and times again. As her age grew, so did the amount of children she bore. But the gods didn't favor her. Every young son she bore would end up dead by disease, except for one, who grew up and a had a child of his own... until he was struck down in combat. Now, an old lady past her prime, she attempted suicide. She did not wish to know more loss. Despite the actions of her old friend she still went through with it... and failed. Her guards did too good of a job. From her failure, she would try to live with herself, but the actions of her past came back to haunt her. As her old lovers died, her affairs were still revealed to the public. Despite being an avid confider, she suffered a mental breakdown in prison, and lost her sanity. After she got out of prison, she launched a number of murder schemes. One of these were revealed, and she was hated for murdering a young Jarl. A couple years later, as she invites the sweet release of death, there is an uprising in her realm. Gyla's grandson and a few other chieftains rebel against her. While she is weak, she still manages to defeat them. Gyla didn't think straight at this point, as she executed her 10 year old Grandson. As if it couldn't get worse, one of her younger daughters died in childbirth. Being driven over the edge once again, she did a horrible thing: stuffing her dead daughter. Shortly afterwards, she had a brief clarity in her mind. She had to try again. Gyla prepared to take her own life again, but this time with a knife. An old lover came to stop her, but she proceeded. It was a failure. Her guards stopped her once again. Now, barely alive, barely dead, she waited and waited. But whilst waiting, she decided to wage war against the Finns. It was in the middle of this war that her heart ultimately gave up. She died an old, sad, lonely woman. She could not escape the loss of others. [link] [comments]
