we need a later start date

    Basically, title.

I understand that vikings are super-popular, but this focus on the IX century is a bit absurd. I understand that it's a good thing that each game organically evolves in a non-historical manner; but the problem is that, because of the sheer amount of complexity involved, even vaguely historical courses of events NEVER occur. Even events which are closer to existing starting dates (e.g. Mazinkert) are assured to never happen, unless explicitly scripted in.

The fact that so much of the actual middle ages is forever locked away in a game explicitly about the middle ages is a bit strange, isn't it? I mean why the fuck are we all salivating over historical nobodies like Haesteinn, when the most famous medieval characters like Saladin or the Plantagenets do not exist?

Got into PC Gaming in the last year/year and a half. Safe to say Paradox has found a new repeat customer. PC gamer for life. Never going back to console. Just played for 12 hours straight today in CK3.

King-Tier vassal is inheriting a foreign kingdom, but is leaving my realm when the foreign ruler dies, no idea why. (CK3)

So I'm the emperor of Italia, and I'd like to bring the kingdom of Sicily into my realm. I noticed that some random count in my realm was the heir to Sicily, so I granted him the kingdom of Sardinia so that when he inherits Sicily it will join my realm. However, when I kill the Sicilian king and my vassal inherits, he becomes independent and now both Sicily and Sardinia are outside my realm. I've recently started playing CK3 after having played a lot of CK2, so I'm wondering if the rules about succession may have changed between the two games. In case it matters, I have high crown authority.

    Thanks for the help!

I'm a Uni History student doing a project on Iberia/Spain during the Crusades. It's for my final project and would like to discuss the situation in that area, media interpretation, or both. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find someone to have a short discussion for a podcast?

    Posted: 01 Jun 2021 09:35 AM PDT

I'm doing my own research on a topic and was looking for someone to have a discussion for a podcast project I'm doing for a final assignment. I can be quite flexible surrounding different subjects regarding the time period. I understand your time is limited, but if anyone would like to have a discussion or point me in the direction that I may be able to find someone that would be willing to discuss this, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping to discuss Spain/Iberia during the time of the First Crusade and the influence of the Franks as well as the Pope on them.

I'm interested in the sources you went to, how you came to the outcomes you did during interaction and/or your approach to developing interactions with specific areas.

I will admit to not playing the game, only because I have just heard about it out of recommendation. However, I will be purchasing it and playing it because I thoroughly enjoy the subject matter.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

TLDR: Wondering if anyone would like to have a discussion on a Uni assignment about the Crusades and Spanish/Iberia.
