You guys ever roleplay your characters?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 08:41 AM PST

Yeah I know I'm a nerd-ass bitch, and yeah, it's cool and all to create some sort of 300-year-old viking god-king or whatever, but does anybody... play realistically?

Hell yes I'm staying loyal to the king my character has 80 opinion of, hell yes I'm yelling at people and starting shit with the wrath trait, hell yes I'm neglecting my children and pushing them way too hard when I'm proud + ambitious.

It's just so cool! Lets you tell stories. I've been monsters and saints, lovers and fighters, the dumbass third son who doesn't know what the fuck is going on, I've clawed my way to the top by betrayal and murder and I've sat contented as a little duke, hunting stags and writing poetry.

I feel it's how the game's meant to be played. Anyone else?

    Changing play style

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 04:02 AM PST

Do you change your play style when your heir takes over based on his traits / stats? Example my character was religious zealot who converted people as he could and did wars to spread religion , but when my heir took over he was more of a scholar and joined Hermetic society, so instead of continuing these wars he stopped them and focused on the stars and things like that.

I'm very new to the game and will doing things like this hurt me in the long run??

Ten Kingdoms shattering of rome, border with religion gore

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 10:36 AM PST

I started as Orthodox. I mended the Schism. Then I converted to Hellenism. I then later converted to Jewish. I then converted back to catholic and reformed rome. I conquered all but 2 dutchies and shattered the entire roman empire. I am now curious to see what happens over the next couple of hundred years. Will update on the final results. Every king is part of my dynasty.

Should the childreb of an annulled marriage be considered illegitimate?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 07:38 AM PST

In real life, when there was an annulment (in Catholicism), the children of that marriage would be declared illegitimate. Mary I was declared illegitimate after Henry VIII divorced Catherine of Aragon, and even Elizabeth I was declared illegitimate when her father executed Anne Boleyn for treason. Should this be taken into consideration for Catholic characters in CK3? It might be a pain to manage, but it would give us a reason to not immediately divorce or imprison and execute an undesirable wife.

Any good non-DLC CK2 Beginners Tips?

    Posted: 29 Nov 2019 10:37 AM PST

I just got CK2 because it is free, I love HOI4 and have played a little bit of VIC2 before so I kind of understand the combat, but not much else. Are there any good guides out there, or any way to get exposed enough to CK2 to understand how to play it? So far I get you play as a family and not a country and I have a decent grasp of the military system.
