Paradox, do NOT nerf human sacrifice, here's why: Posted: 10 May 2021 10:30 PM PDT Human sacrifice religions can generate unnatural amounts of piety since there's no limit on how many people you can sacrifice. Some think this should be nerfed because it's "ahistorical" for one random religion trait to be so powerful if abused by a callous ruler. But CK3 is still fiction, not a history simulator. And the "unnatural" amount of piety you can gain from human sacrifice is Paradox telling us a secret about their world: Human sacrifice actually works. They obviously can't just out and tell everyone their game is a world where ancient (especially Germanic) human sacrifice rituals enable supernatural feats of mass hypnosis, such as converting entire Empires to entirely forgotten belief systems literally overnight. That would anger the left, the right and the censors all at once. People who pay attention know that Crusader Kings might seem like an innocent strategy game with no real violence and pretty classical music, but it's actually pretty fucking metal, right down to the human sacrifice and subtle critique of religion. Don't change the story, human sacrifice religions are the most powerful for a reason, and the game should stay this way. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Anyone else like giving defeated peasant revolt leaders the duchies in newly-conquered territory? Posted: 10 May 2021 02:53 PM PDT Feels like it could generate more of a story than giving it to other lowborns, and you don't have to worry about the political consequences of giving it to unlanded nobles. Plus they're always really good marshals and the opinion benefit from giving them land completely offsets them initially not liking you. Mostly though I kinda just respect the smallfolk leaders for having the balls to stand up to the king/emperor against overwhelming odds; feel they deserve the land more than the other trash in your court. Secret Hellenic Cult - pressing foreign claims - Quick question Posted: 11 May 2021 07:53 AM PDT Hi all, I have a question i'm hoping t get some help on as i have not been able to find an answer. BACKGROUND (in case the context is important): I started a 1066 game in Aragon and turned my first heir greek so I could "delve into the classics" - he became hellenic. I initially converted about 10-15 high diplomacy ppl, and when my character died, the ai went nuclear and started mass converting my realm (pretty much 75% of my realm is secret hellenic with ~90 members in the actual cult) NOTES: i'm not doing an roman run, i'm gonna do either "magna greica", alexander's empire, Ptolemaic Egypt or Athens Mediterranean hegemony/Greek Colonization on steroids - i.e. won't have roman casus belli QUESTION: I basically keep inviting courtiers, and the ai keep converting them at this point, I have a ton of courtiers with claims on duchy's, chiefdoms/high chiefdoms, prinicpalities/grand principalities and the kingdom of france - If i press these claims and get my secret hellenics on the thrones, when I go public with the religion, will they follow suit? IE could I end up with the Queen of France as a Hellenic and actually have some parts of the world not hate my guts? Thanks!! PS Sicily is my new capital (and Kingdom of Sicily is my main title), am I crazy for wanting to move the capital to Alexandria? [link] [comments]

What are the best traits for a court physician? Posted: 11 May 2021 04:47 AM PDT I'm kinda new to the game but after losing my whole dynasty because of a trash court physician, I thought there might be a way to choose a better physician for my court that I'm not aware of. any ideas?
