Me and the gang going to Jerusalem

Casually slapping "accept" on all the "Seek indulgences" requests that I was getting in tons. Well, one of them wasn't an indulgence. Damn you, sneaky Caliph, you got me this time.

The incest warning message should also display the number of common ancestors

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 05:52 AM PDT

The game displays a warning message if the player is trying to marry two related characters, which is both helpful and appropriate.

However, not all incestuous marriages are the same (both historically and gameplay-wise). The chance of getting inbred children increases the more common ancestors both parents have, but the message is the exact same whether you are marrying your own daughter (actual "forbidden" incest) or simply a distant cousin (relatively common in the real history).

It would be very useful to have the number of common ancestors displayed as part of the warning message, so the players could make informed decisions without going through the dynasty tree of the character in question. It becomes especially bothersome when you have a big dynasty within a fairly confined religion. So many characters will have this warning message that it becomes unfeasible to check all of them.

The CK3 wikipedia has some helpful information related to the topic for those who are curious.

For female-preference and female-only religions, marriages should be matrilineal by default.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:35 AM PDT

Basically flip it and make patrilineal the exception option.

I want to play "Mother of Us All" with female-preference but it seems like a gigantic pain in this ass because of this. It doesn't make sense that in a female-preference religion patrilineal marriage would still be the default.

Seems like a simple fix and Paradox would make this playstyle viable.

Or, at least make "matrilineal preference" a religion option.

When creating a custom religion, I want to be able to choose at least one holy site from anywhere in the world.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2020 09:52 AM PDT

Title says it all. Creating a religion centred around a character, but not being able to have their home as a holy site is pretty annoying. I can understand how it'd be overpowered in some ways, but if it was only one, which you could exchange for only one other holy site, would that not still be pretty balanced?
