Is it even possible to win a crusade in Crusader Kings 3?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2021 03:27 AM PDT

I know it is because I somehow won my first one, but every single other one after that has been impossible to win due to the useless ally AI. The enemy always without fail gathers up a doomstack and the crusaders just stand around in small groups getting picked off one by one.

You can't initiate a battle because the AI just stands around and runs away while their doomstack kills off your army. You can't focus on sieging territory because either the doomstack kills you, or if you have a comparable troop count it just waits for the territory to be empty and guards groups of enemies that take it back. So how are you ever supposed to win?

And anyway why is the pope calling crusades so early? I thought it wasn't supposed to happen until about 1066, but the last six or so games I've been starting in 867 and having a crusade called within a couple of decades at mos.

I finished my first full play through!

I started as the Kievan Rus. Instead of converting to Christianity, I remained a follower of the Germanic religion. I eventually reformed the Germanic religion and brought Odin all over Scandanavia and Eastern Europe. What a ride :) Thank you for making this game

Poor pope inherited a title with no lands or authority, he wasted away his days in the sewers beneath Rome. I feel you, buddy.

Pappa CK/Paradox Noticed Me During Stream and I didn't realize...

TLDR - Senpai noticed me during a stream, gave a me a shout out on their twitter.

I thought it was just a random, who was enjoying the content.

I then proceeded to explain the game...to the devs

I've never been so happy and embarrassed in my life XD

Had no idea you can create an actual new de jure empire.

    What is your ideal run?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2021 10:24 AM PDT

Mine is: Start in 867 as Charles the Bald > take over all claimed kingdoms > form Holy Roman Empire > Allow Northmen Army to take over Normandy > revoke a title there > become Norman > create Archduchy of Austria (for primogeniture) > mend great schism > restore Roman Empire > create custom christian religion > take over world.

    What's your craziest seduce/romance story on CK3?

    Posted: 30 Aug 2021 09:50 AM PDT

As the king of Ireland, yes I am a noob coming out of the tut, I have managed to make the queens of Castile, France and Scotland my lovers.

I also murdered the king of France. Which was married matrilineal, I am attempting to get any of these kingdoms through a patrilineal marriage using the fully developed seducer tree. Not sure if it works that way but don't spoil me

What are some of your stories?
