Paradox, stop spouses from wandering. Please.

    Posted: 19 Jan 2021 04:54 AM PST

Why can the spouses of my children, especially my heir's, leave my court? Its so annoying to have my heir's wife travel to other side of the world, then give birth to the next in line for my succession, who will not be born into my court but some randomers court.

I then can't educate the child, arrange marriage or invite them back to court. The mother will not even remain in the same court as them.

I love this game, but when this happens I want to smash my head into my desk. Hours spent building an Empire only to have it crumble because my inevitable heir was stuck at the other side of the world, got a shit education and usually has their culture changed.

Spouse's of those in line for succession should not be able to travel away from court. Or at the very least, I should be able to bring the children back to my court WITHOUT RESTRICTION. Why the hell can some schmuk with 50 levies just jack the future successor to my continental empire?

I'm not a fan of the wandering mechanic in general. I think members of your court should have to ask for permission to leave.

(I know you can get around this by landing your heir but sometimes that just isn't possible or would cause some issues)

I fucking hate this game. I could wait for 500 years to get the fucking immortality event, just to horribly die in process, but when i start a little meme game just to fuck around, I become immortal 14 years after the game started.

I don't want to play this game anymore

I got tired of dealing with liberty factions, so I made all my vassals into stable theocracies.

Very easy game and boring late game - Small complaints from a lover of the game

    Posted: 19 Jan 2021 04:53 AM PST

Hey guys! I'm a big fan of CK3 and it's certainly one of the games that has had the most fun in my life so far - and the hope of big expansions really gets me excited

However, there are two things that bore me a lot in the game, mainly because they do not seem difficult to solve, just needing an initiative from the developers. So I come here to see your opinion and give some suggestions to see if you agree

It's about the overall ease of the game and the boring end of the game. As for the second from what I see of the memes with the 1453's achievement it also bothers other players.

I believe that the main point is the ease after you become emperor. It's really hard to lose the title and all that's left to do is turn into a big bubble. My suggestions are as follows, I think that if that happens one day it would become the game of my dreams (and I sincerely hoped it came from Paradox, I'm not a big fan of mods):

    - For fun gameplay as an emperor it would have to be quite difficult to expand. I believe that CK2's defense pacts could have an interesting application. I would suggest a kind of "external tyranny": the leaders of other nations could really hate an expansionist empire. One of the consequences of this would be the difficulty in obtaining marriages and alliances, which would make internal revolts much more dangerous.

    - The title of emperor should disappear in some cases ... I had no good idea how it could be done

    - The disinherit option and also the types of succession at the end of the game are very strong, I think that in these cases the "forgotten" children should have an opinion -100 and form very strong rebellions. I really hate the disinherit option and I'm not using it, but I think it could be maintained if the consequences were more serious and it could only be used in exceptional cases (if the heir has given a reason, with the approval of the Pope or the vassals , something like).

    - Liberty War (which is one of the most difficult to contain) has very mild consequences, it is very easy to accept the conditions and the low control over vassals is not difficult to handle.

    - More game options related to the difficulty so that more experienced players can have more fun in the late game. This is my main request from Paradox. Most frequent diseases (it is very easy to deal with diseases), domain and vassal limit, frequencies and power of rebellions, etc.

    - Fame level and piety drops are not very relevant and do not produce difficult consequences to deal with

In general, what I wanted most was to see empires collapsing, especially mine. To be relegated to the condition of count and having to ascend to the throne again. Or to see the empire falling apart in different kingdoms of brothers who hate each other. But the game is really easy and it doesn't happen (what I'm doing now is not using disenhrit, putting cultural and religious conversion in the very slow .. the game was a little more challenging but I'm in 1100 and I'm already getting bored). This would also be faithfully historical, since in 1453 there were no gigantic empires in Europe - on the contrary cultural differences prevented this and the rest of the history we leave to the EU4

Ah, I remembered something else. I really hate to play to be a bubble. God, how I wish there was a scoring system, a hall of fame along the lines of CIV4. However, where the final size of the empire did not matter so much, but much more the great achievements of your house (winning important wars, staying in power, building wonders and universities, making commoners and vassals happy with prosperous times of peace, etc. )

So guys, do you agree or disagree with something? What are your suggestions? Are there any hopes for Paradox to look to experienced players and make the game more challenging?

Will we get a dev diary today?

    Posted: 19 Jan 2021 05:52 AM PST

During the last dev diary (December 15th) the dev team announced the earliest we'd be seeing dev diaries return would be mid-January. As it is now mid-January and a Tuesday (when dev diaries usually come out), do people think they'll be a dev diary today, or has there been any confirmation on paradox's over forms of social media?

I'm an emperor of Spain with my son being my next heir, but i just look at my grown-up 16 years old daughter and her stats are so damn good. If i designate her as my heir, even though my christianity faith is male dominated, is that going to work? Am i going to have some penalties?

    The Mongols need a buff.

    Posted: 19 Jan 2021 10:29 AM PST

I honestly feel like the Mongols are a bit pathetic at this point in the game. They barely are on the map before they collapse and even as a eastern kingdom I don't have any worry about them. I feel as it should be more of a mid-game crisis, like how Stellaris handles their crises.

    Anyone agree?
