I played as an unlanded character in CK3 - It's possible! Posted: 12 Oct 2020 03:40 PM PDT I just played a CK3 game where I was imprisoned and stripped of all my titles. The game over screen appeared. But the game was still running (multiplayer game). I realized that I was now a guest at another court and could still do things with my character. I could do all the regular interactions. I swayed my wife, I was seduced and lay with a dude, I murdered a king, I was invited to a different court by another player and was given a council position. My close family always came with me. I arranged a marriage between my sister and my new liege's Steward. I could even declare wars, but that would not lead anywhere since I obviously had no army. Eventually my liege (a player) gave me a new title so I was landed again as his vassal. We were completely mindblown because we had no idea it was possible to play like this, but it was! Everything worked the same, I just didn't have any holdings, and thus no levies. The game engine clearly fully supports it, only weird thing is that the "Game over" screen always remained and couldn't be removed, so it was really inconvenient. So this other player helped me and gave me new land, but I'm pretty sure it would be possible to get an AI character to have pressed my claims or give me lands if I was just good enough. Thinking back I didn't have any levies due to no holdings, but I DID have money, so I might actually have been able to hire mercenaries and just conquer some new land for myself. Unfortunately didn't think to try that. It was really weird, because the game engine could clearly handle it absolutely perfectly and it didn't seem to be any bugs or weird stuff happening. It really seemed like it was intended to work. At the same time it really seemed like it was not intended, because I did get the game over screen over everything else and I could not remove it, so I had to drag all the other windows out from behind it to see them. Tedious, but fully playable. I eventually got new titles and got the full experience of an exiled noble rising back to power and planning to take back my homeland. But the "Game over" screen was STILL there, so then I just clicked the option to select a new character, and I selected the same character I was playing, since I had lands again, and just kept playing. I have been searching a while about this phenomenon, but I can not find any other examples of people playing as an unlanded character in CK3. Did anyone else know about this? I have heard about a "Rise to Power" DLC which is suposed to enable playing as unlanded, but it seems literally the only thing necessary is to just be allowed to remove the game over screen. This is version 1.1.2 with no mods or anything. [link] [comments]

Paradox, please give us more war coordination with our allies Posted: 13 Oct 2020 07:43 AM PDT I love this game so much, it's the best game I've ever played. That being said, I can't tell you how many war shattering battles I've had because of how stupid the AI is. What we need is the ability to mark war targets and attach our armies to ally armies, like in CK2. Also, it would be really nice, if you were the war leader, if you could mark your armies to be followed by ally armies. Similar to the war target system in CK2 where you could choose specific armies to go to a certain county, you should be able to do that with armies. I'm at the point where allies only exist as renown farms for me cause they are so fucking unreliable. If I can't win a war on my own I just don't declare, which entirely defeats the purpose of allies. [link] [comments]
