Was playing a casual game starting as Mumu, trying to form the empire of Britannia. Crusade comes along, I nonchalantly send some men to help but quickly retreat them. Crusade ends and I'm Queen of Egypt!? As a relatively new player (80 hours), I was baffled.

TIL The Cold, Hard, Truth : Defensive Pact Exist Because...

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:40 PM PDT

    The AI suck.

They absolutely and undeniably suck, face it.

Today I've crushed a realm with triple my size and double my troops. What I do is, like everyone, is to wait for them until they spread their troops in a massive flaw to carpet siege my realm.

All I need is three commanders with 15+ martial good traits and I end up with a screen we see a lot of times, 3x, 4x of casualties on their side.

The defensive pact is like a handicap in chess.

Instead of developing a better AI, Paradox decided to go for the cheap solution. Just give the opponent more pieces. Which players go for checkmate.

They also don't make a semi-decent solution, for example, your neighbors attack you together, each pressing their own claim: territorial reconquest.

Instead, every AI I've ever seen is keen on bullying AI weaker than them, be shit in troops management, became weak, and be bullied by another.

Is forming the HRE worth it?

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:45 PM PDT

So I'm pretty deep into my first real campaign that I didn't start on Noob Island. I'm currently ruling with an 18-year old who inherited 5 kingdom-level titles. I have the option to form the Holy Roman Empire, but that would mean forfeiting those titles who bring in a very decent amount of prestige each month and are mostly primogeniture. Is a single, elective Empire-level title worth forfeiting my kingdoms?

I have been playing CK2 since The Old Gods expansion in 2013 and only now I've I learned that you can give orders to your allies in wars

    Posted: 09 Jun 2020 06:05 AM PDT

I have over 800 hours played in this game and I only learned this week that the Monks and Mystics expansion lets order allies in a war to hunt for enemy armies, siege or attach them to an army.

I feel so stupid that I missed out in this for so long, just hoping for allies to show up and help me out in wars. I've won so many fights against larger empires now that my allies actually help out now.

Most total stats I've had on a mortal character with no University built. If only I had gotten him before he was a kinslayer and wasnt forced to expell jews, would have had 23 diplomacy to boot. Only 1 magnum opus so far (rest fed to the dragon).

What is the event that overthrows china's dynasty and dismantles the Western Protectorate?

Specifically its event ID. Playing HIP and the WP has managed to subdue all of West Asia...again. Damn Jurchens.
