How do I break this Umayyablob?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 10:16 AM PST

It's not about the size of the dog in the fight, but about army composition, terrain bonuses, and the traits of your commanders.

CK2 LifeProTip: If you are a duke with multiple duchies, you can change your succession law at will by changing your primary title

    Posted: 29 Dec 2019 07:05 PM PST

So as we all know, kingdoms and empires have their own succession laws, and if you have multiple such titles, each will follow its own rules and that's a pain in the ass. But duchies seemingly don't have their own succession laws - as long as you're a duke, all your titles will have the same succession no matter what.

    Or do they?

Actually, duchies do have their own succession laws. It's just that when a duchy is not your primary title, its succession law is temporarily suppressed. If you have two duchies that start out as gavelkind, and you change the succession law in one to be primogeniture, you can return to gavelkind by switching your primary title to the second duchy, whose succession law was never changed. Then you can give that duchy ultimogeniture succession, and switch between primo and ultimo at your whim depending on the stats of your children. You don't have to worry about what opinion your vassals have of you, or waiting for a cooldown, or anything like that. By the way, you don't have to wait for a cooldown to change the succession law in the second duchy, either - it's a different title, so you can change it right away. The only catch to this is you must remain a duke - as soon as you become a king your duchies cannot be your primary title anymore and their succession laws will always be suppressed.

A related tip is that if your duchies are in different de jure kingdoms, you can also change which crown laws apply to you and maybe who your autocephalous religious head is by switching primary titles.

What Religion/Heresy are you going to try to make?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 10:40 AM PST

I'm going to try for a matriarchal christianity, and empower women in government in general, so I can eventually make my daughters the primary heir, and seduce characters with good genetic traits to breed them into my line.

Is there a way to get rid of the "stressed" trait without Way Of Life or Monks and Mystics?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 07:38 AM PST

I have Conclave with its education system which gives you stressed trait if you want your child to not suck, however I don't have WoL so I cannot just go carousing to get rid of that stress. I also don't have MM so no Hermetic society for me either. Are there any other ways? I decided to start playing iron man for achievements but it's really annoying to lose your 30 year old otherwise 100% healthy ruler because of stress.
