CK3 Request: Replace the Star and Crescent Icons for Muslims.

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 06:33 AM PDT

The star and crescent only really became associated with Islam itself after the Ottomans rose to power, well past the timeframe of Crusader Kings.

    Reasons to replace it:

    1) Historically inaccurate.

    2) Unlike the Cross for Christians, the Star and Crescent are not holy objects for Muslims.

    3) Perpetuates the myth that Muslims worship the "Moon God." (Yes, even in the Age of Information, I've come across too many people that still believe this.) [Anecdotal]

    4) Amongst religiously minded Muslims, the use of the star and crescent is heavily disliked, as it conflicts with the Iconoclast nature of Islam, and from my experience, it's use in the modern Muslim community has declined over the years. [Anecdotal]

What to replace it with? My suggestion would be some simple Islamic Calligraphy like this or something.

(I know making changes and adding new things takes a lot of time, effort, and money, so I don't really expect PDX to change the Icons just because a random dude on the internet requests them to, but I do hope they keep this in mind if they ever get around to it for whatever reason.)

    What do you players think?

Reminder: The Old Gods is now free!

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 09:52 AM PDT

Many reading this may wonder why I am posting this, especially if you already knew about this. However, I have realized that many still aren't aware of how the Old Gods expansion is free if you sign up to the CK3 newsletter on the CK3 website. All pagans, Vikings, raiding, Zoroastrians and an earlier start date, for free! It's been free for a while but again if you didn't know or just forgot, here you go.

First time playing CK2 properly (after the learning scenario). Really happy with my current character and realm tbh, wasn't expecing such success for a mere duke (Duke Waltger*, 989 AD)
